About Claims Newsletter

An independent publication explaining UK claims, redress and complaints in plain English, so people can decide for themselves what to do.

Why this exists

When a redress story breaks, consumers are hit with advertising long before they get an explanation. Adverts rarely mention that the free route exists, what a percentage fee means in pounds, or that a scheme has been paused. That gap is what this publication is for.

Our editorial rule is simple: explain the free route first. If a paid service can genuinely help, we say what it does, what it costs, and what it cannot promise.

What we do

What we do not do

We are not a claims management company. We do not assess, submit, manage or sell claims. We do not take a percentage of anyone's compensation. We do not pass your details to claims firms.

How we work

Sourcing

We rely on primary sources: regulators, ombudsman services, official announcements and published decisions. Where a position is contested or in flux, we say so rather than presenting it as settled.

Dating and review

Every guide carries the date it was last reviewed. In this sector, an undated page is close to useless, because deadlines and scheme rules move.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and note what changed. Report an error through the contact page, including the page and the specific detail.

Independence

Our guides are not influenced by commercial relationships. If that ever changes, the funding model below will be updated before publication, not after.

Funding

Operator to complete before launch: state plainly how this publication is funded, for example subscriptions, advertising, or affiliate arrangements, and disclose any commercial relationship that could affect coverage. Readers judge independence by what you disclose, so be specific.

Contacting us

Questions, corrections and feedback are welcome through the contact page. We cannot advise on individual cases or act on anyone's behalf.

Who operates this site

Operator to complete before launch: the registered legal entity operating this site, company number, registered address, and a contact address for data protection enquiries. This information must appear before publication and should match the privacy notice and terms of use.
